How to remove shellac at home - three good ways
Sometimes it so happens that you really want to change the coating on the nails. But what if this is a shellac varnish coating? In this article, we have collected different ways with which you can remove shellac at home.
With foil
You will need cotton pads, foil, nail polish remover, or simply acetone, orange or metal sticks, and a buff file.
Always begin to work first with one hand, and then with the other.
Then you need to moisten cotton pads well with acetone and wrap around the marigold. Then wrap a cotton pad with a piece of foil. Leave the foil for 25 minutes, or even 35.
When you remove the foil, you will see that the shellac has fallen behind your nail plate and you can gently pry it off with an orange stick.
When you have removed all the shellac, then proceed to polish the nail plate. Go over the nail surface well with a buff file. This will help remove the remaining shellac, as well as remove roughness from the nail. It is then recommended to apply nourishing oil to your nails so that your nail plate heals faster.
With acetone
Start by washing your hands with soap and water. Then take a file with a high abrasiveness for grinding the nail and start cutting off the shiny layer of shellac. Saw off carefully so as not to inadvertently damage the nail itself.
Fill a container with acetone, and then apply any greasy cream to the skin around the nails. This will prevent the effects of acetone on the skin of your fingers. Keeping nails in acetone costs about 10 minutes.
When you take out your fingers, you will see how the shellac has lagged behind your nail plate. Now carefully remove the coating with the help of an orange stick. And after washing my hands with soap.
Then we polish the nails with a buff file and apply a nourishing cream or oil to the nails. Usually, such oils contain nutrients, vitamins and extracts that will allow the nail plate to recover faster.
Professional withdrawal
You can purchase a special gel in salons that will help you remove shellac at home. With such a gel, it is also worth purchasing finger caps. Take a regular sponge and wet it well with the gel.
Then put a cap on each finger and fix it. This is usually an easy-to-use Velcro fastener. Time it for 10 minutes, and then remove the caps. The gel will dissolve shellac very quickly, without injuring the skin of the fingers.
The remains of the softened coating can be easily removed with an orange stick. We polish the nail plate again with a buff file, and then apply nutritious oil to the nails.
