Henna - a shrub, the bark and leaves of which, after processing, turns into a powder called henna, a well-known natural hair dye.

Henna not only dyes hair, it strengthens them, improving their growth, is a treatment for seborrhea, and is also a prevention against hair loss. The hair becomes shiny and rich in color. You can dye your hair with henna yourself by purchasing 1-3 sachets of henna, it all depends on the length and thickness of the hair. It is very important when staining, to mix the composition correctly. The easiest is to mix the henna with water until it looks like yogurt. To speed up the staining, you can add red wine, lemon juice or vinegar to the composition with the powder. Henna has a specific smell, to hide it, add green tea, you can add spices or essential oils, this will not particularly affect the hair color.

When buying, pay attention to the freshness of henna, fresh henna will dye your hair faster and better.

 

Coloring tips

  • Before staining, a cream should be applied to the forehead so that the skin does not stain;
  • Dyeing hair should start from the occipital region, then the crown and temples at the end, paint over all the hair;
  • How much time you spend on coloring depends on what hair color you have and what shade you want to get;
  • Dark hair is dyed from 1 to 1.5 hours, and light hair from 30 to 40 minutes;
  • If you want to dye your hair faster, you can dry it slightly with a hairdryer;
  • After staining, henna is washed off with shampoo to clean water. Do not forget to apply balm to your hair;
  • If the color is too bright, you can remove it slightly. You need to rub warmed vegetable oil into your hair, and hold it for a while, then rinse with shampoo. If necessary, the procedure with oil is repeated;
  • After dyeing, I don’t wash my hair for three days, but if it’s summer, then we don’t hide it from the sun, then the color will become brighter and richer;
  • If your hair is dyed with henna more than once every two months, it can fade.

Shades

You can use a little trick to get the shade you want. A chestnut shade can be obtained if instant coffee is added to the henna solution with just one spoon. If you add beet juice to henna instead of water, we get a reddish tint. Henna mixed with basma will give a chocolate shade. If your henna stain has faded, you can freshen it up. We take boiled water 1.25 liters and 50 grams of henna, stir, filter, cool, rinse the hair.

Cautions

  • If the hair has been recently dyed with modern dye, either highlighted, or after a perm, it is better not to dye with henna, because there can be a very sad result with an unpredictable color.
  • Henna dyeing is not recommended for natural blonde hair unless you are a fan of bright red hair.
  • Gray hair with henna is not painted over; all that can turn out is an unpleasant color of carrots.
  • If you decide to dye with henna, keep in mind that henna is a long-lasting dye that penetrates deep into the hair and has a beneficial effect on the quality and health of the hair. But you won't be able to paint over this paint. The curling is not taken on the hair dyed with henna, the paint does not fall, we wait until they grow back.

I really want to dye my hair after henna

There are only two options. Wait to grow back, and cut: wait a long time, it's a pity to cut. To dye your hair, you need to get rid of the henna ... rinse it off. There are several options, homemade folk recipes, which one is right your hair - we do not know.

  • Laundry soap instead of shampoo, in a month you can dye your hair.
  • Soda solution: 10 tbsp. tablespoons of soda, 1 tablespoon of salt in a glass of water - apply the solution to the hair and stand for an hour, then rinse.
  • Onion. Moisten hair with onion juice.
  • Sour cream - apply to hair for 1 hour.
  • Kefir mask. 1 glass of fatty kefir, 50 g of yeast, apply to hair for 2 hours.
  • The most popular are oil masks. We take olive or jojoba, almond (any natural) - heat it and apply it to the hair, put on a hat and wrap it with a towel for 2 hours.
  • Alcohol masks. Alcohol masks are very dry to the skin.
  • Pepper tincture for 20-30 minutes.
  • Vodka 70 ml, olive oil 50 ml, honey 1 spoon, butter with honey warm, keep for 2-3 hours.
  • Cognac 50 gr, castor oil 50 gr, keep for 1 hour. Without rinsing, apply kefir with orange juice for another 5 hours.
